4-Month-Old Dead After Being Found in Minivan

Lakewood, NJ - Moshe Ehrlich, 35, of Lakewood was charged with Endangering The Welfare of a Child after leaving 4-month-old in minivan, eventually leading to his death.

Lakewood, NJ police were called to Fifth Street around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday (3/18/25) following reports of an infant in distress inside a vehicle, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

When officers arrived, Hatzolah Medical Services was already on the scene, administering lifesaving aid to the 4-month-old. The infant was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, later pronounced dead.

After a thorough investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, authorities determined that Ehrlich’s infant son was left alone in his vehicle for an extended period.

On March 20, 2025, Ehrlich turned himself in at Lakewood Township Police Headquarters and was taken into custody at the Ocean County Jail, where he remains held.
